I’ve lost two pets under VCA Miller-Robertson vets. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you are reading this review and take me seriously. The people who work behind the counter have never once had my papers in order, write notes on the wrong pet’s papers, once gave me the wrong medicine (!!!), (more…)

If you love your pets DON’T come here. I brought my 11 month old puppy who was drooling thick layers of salvia and could barely stand or walk straight without falling over to this 24 hour vet clinic, about 20 minutes after they took him in the vet told me my puppy had 1 of 3 incurable diseases. (more…)

VCA Vet Marjorie Field Wraps Dogs Throat and Head Too Tightly; Dog Dies of Suffocation (Michigan)

January 8, 2009

This is one of those rare cases that actually made it to court.

Here is an excerpt from the opinion of the court:

“Plaintiff [John Koester] left his dog at defendant VCA’s kennel for a weekend. Plaintiff left explicit instructions not to use a collar on the dog because of a salivary gland problem for which VCA had previously treated the pet. Upon returning for the dog, plaintiff noticed that the dog’s neck area was swollen. Within a few days, when the dog continued to exhibit swelling (more…)

UnKind and Very deceiving Practice  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Please be very careful as to what you are being told when you are there. Two months ago, I took my pet in for regular vaccines and a check up. I waited for about 45 minutes to see the lady doctor; when I went in she told me about the vaccines and didn’t put a hand on my pet to examine him. I had to tell her that my pet had a lump inside back leg and if she could please see what it was? She told that it could be taken out and I said yes… but I ask how much it was going to be? (more…)

Vca Bolingbrook Again!

January 8, 2009

We are the owners of three dogs…and that can be expensive. We have a special needs bull terrier who was diagnosed as being incontinent by Dr. Jen at the Bolingbrook facility. Our dog was on a medication for 2 years that she shouldn’t have been on. Suddenly, she started peeing blood and we spent $1000 on several visits to diagnose her with bladder stones. Bolingbrook recommended we visit their specialty clinic in Berwyn. The doctor there told me the surgery would be over $3000!!! I was devastated. I love my dog, but $3000 is a LOT of money. I made a few phone calls, was told that a simple X-ray of the dog should have been the first cause of action and I found a vet that did the EXACT same surgery for $900. VCA can kiss my butt! And my dog’s butt, too!

PROS: Location is good.
CONS: Prices are ridiculous. It’s $35 just to walk in the door!

Vca Bolingbrook Animal Hosp, Visit this vet if you want your pets to DIE!!!

January 8, 2009

Here is the story, I’m an owner of a 2 year old persian cat-my cat went into labor and was having dificulty delivering her kittens. We rushed her to the Vca Animal Hospital, and the staff was very unfriendly from the start. Asside from that, the vet did a c-section on my cat…. I was okay with that…They took three kittens out of her, one they said was dead at birth, (more…)

I brought my 14 year old dog to see Dr. Sam after she started favoring her hind leg. He examined her and recommended surgery to repair a damaged acl joint. This was going to cost in excess of $2,000 but he urged me to do it as he said it would improve her quality of life. (more…)

VCA ben White Animal Hospital

January 8, 2009

got my puppy neutered here and they were very impersonal. They, also, used stitches and didn’t give me a cone for his head. They tacked on approximately $60 of extra charges – $30 for medication, $30 for a test to, first, see if my dog was allergic to anesthesia.
The doctor came out and handed him to me and went back in. He chewed off his stitches later that night and I had to take him to AM/PM Vet to staple them shut. I should’ve asked for a cone. I should’ve asked why stitches, not staples, yes – but I still think they suck.

VCA Bayshore Animal Hospital

January 8, 2009

This place is by far the worst vet clinic I have ever been to. Aside from the vet techs, the other two vets I had were rude, obnoxious, snooty, and out to get money. I usually go to a family owned clinic down south from where I live, but in the case of emergencies I have resorted twice to this clinic in the past 3 years. The first time, i brought my cat who had jumped into a lake to make sure he was ok and all they kept doing was trying to get me to purchase  x-rays and blood tests (he turned out to be fine). They didn’t give me any reassurance as to whether he would be ok or not. (more…)

VCA Albany Strikes Again

January 7, 2009

This is the status after 4 months:
1) I left over $900 there, and getting absolutely NO HELP for my cat (all symptoms return constantly)
2) I was brushed off by Dr. Somanski (I was told by the reception gals that he is rather quick and impatient – great!!!), who just left me in the waiting room after he was clueless, and send in Dr. Reed
3) I was charged $40 for a 3-sec., useless test by Dr. Reed
4) saw worthless Dr. Martin
and I am livid at this clinic.  I got into more debt because of all the visits leading to nothing.  I can’t believe how much money I left there in a short time period, plus they raised their rates for regular office visits too, while other vets stayed the same.
RIDICULOUS, disgusting place!!!
