UnKind and Very deceiving Practice 
Please be very careful as to what you are being told when you are there. Two months ago, I took my pet in for regular vaccines and a check up. I waited for about 45 minutes to see the lady doctor; when I went in she told me about the vaccines and didn’t put a hand on my pet to examine him. I had to tell her that my pet had a lump inside back leg and if she could please see what it was? She told that it could be taken out and I said yes… but I ask how much it was going to be? The receptionist said about $600.00 and they will call me when it was done. I had to call them… When I went to pay the bill was $1,384.56 more than double the amount. I was never giving an Estimate and I never ask for one because I had to go to work. I complained because of the outrageous amount that was charge for services that I didn’t authorize. My brother who is a Lawyer in New York did some research for me and what he found made me realize that this people don’t care about the Pet’s, “They Care about The MONEY” filling the packets of the share holders and Maximise Profits. This Corporation VCA ANTECH Owns all of the VCA such as VCA La Mirada, VCA Lakewook… so; all of this Hospitals are bought and the seller agrees to stay on board for smooths transition. Now the Hospitals goes from a Family practice to a National Exchange Company in The Stock Market. The objective is to maximise Profits at all costs. We went so far, that we even found that the Big Dogs as they are call, have their hands in at many national Veterinary Universities as to how Veterinarians students are taught at School. As we were told by my brother Veterinarian in New york Dr. Parker says ” Be very aware about New Veterinarians Now days… The new breeds of Vets are General Practitioner’s and Specialist; just like Human Medicine. You can’t expect New Vets to perform a good Surgery or Know how to do one with they way there are been taught at School. New Vets Only Get 2 hours experience were a professor does a surgery and 50 plus students observe. You get mediocre Vets (Barbies and GQ Boys) that don’t even want to thoroughly examine your pet. Now you have to spend double the money because all your vet can do is refer you to the specialist at VCA .This is done to push clients to specialty VCA’s Lakewood or VCA ALLCare hospitals to mention some of the BIG DOG’s. I ask my self, with this type of mentality who can you really trust. I will ask every one to please support your Local Veterinarians. And For VCA La Mirada, You will never see me there again. We Love our Pets Very Much but this is not a reason for you to take advantage and want to SUCK US DRY.
