I brought my 14 year old dog to see Dr. Sam after she started favoring her hind leg. He examined her and recommended surgery to repair a damaged acl joint. This was going to cost in excess of $2,000 but he urged me to do it as he said it would improve her quality of life. I said no, but it still cost me over a hundred and fifty dollars to walk out the door, after office visit and meds which they never even asked if I wanted. (Had they given me a prescription to have filled at the pharmacy, it would have cost less than half of what they charged me, I found out later). I took ,my dog to another vet for a second opinion and he said no way would he recommend this operation as he wouldn’t want to induce that much trauma to a dog her age. He told me that the acl would get better, but her rabbit hunting days were over. Well now less than a year later, at 15 years old, my beagle is happier and healthier than ever. We go on 2 mile walks in the woods all the time and she still chases rabbits. (although she can’t catch them anymore) This place is about one thing MONEY. Their office visits are twice what others are charging, which would be OK if their service, knowledge and expertise were twice as good, instead of inferior.
