VCA Bayshore Animal Hospital

This place is by far the worst vet clinic I have ever been to. Aside from the vet techs, the other two vets I had were rude, obnoxious, snooty, and out to get money. I usually go to a family owned clinic down south from where I live, but in the case of emergencies I have resorted twice to this clinic in the past 3 years. The first time, i brought my cat who had jumped into a lake to make sure he was ok and all they kept doing was trying to get me to purchase  x-rays and blood tests (he turned out to be fine). They didn’t give me any reassurance as to whether he would be ok or not. This first experience was with a male vet. The second time around a few years later it was with my dog. Time I had the medical director whose name is DePunzio. This woman was a complete b**ch. Sorry to use that word. She was condescending, which I had already heard from some of the people that worked there. I had initially chose to see another vet after hearing that, but she was supposedly the more experienced one for emergencies. Pretty much she tried to give me scare and convince me that my dog will die unless I give him all the treatment she listed for me which added up to 1000 dollars. And the whole time she read facts to me about the situation out of a book! What kind of experienced vet has to read numbers to you out of a book to sound like she knows her business. I decided to leave and drive my dog to the normal vet clinic i go to, which she highly disapproved of. Ultimately, not only did the usual clinic convince me that my dog would be fine, but the bill only came out to be 300 dollars because they only performed the treatment they felt was necessary at the time and not the whole bunch so they could charge me. This is the big difference between corporate clinics and privately owned clinics.
